Chiefs Defeat Titans to Go to Super Bowl

It is going to be a very interesting Super Bowl in two weeks. The Kansas City Chiefs have won the AFC title for the first time in 50 years by defeating the Tennessee Titans at Arrowhead Stadium by a score of 35-24. The Chiefs almost made it to the Super Bowl last year. However, one of their players committed an off sides penalty that caused them to lose to the New England Patriots in the AFC title game. The headlines are praising all of the offensive stars of the Chiefs for securing the win. However, it was the defense of Kansas City that was most responsible for their win. They were able to shut down and contain Titans running back Derrick Henry.

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes is now the face of the NFL. He played great and made many great throws in the victory over the Titans. He also made a great run of 21 yards to score a key touchdown. It was hard to believe that he suffered a leg injury earlier in the season that prevented him from being able to run. He showed no signs of that injury in the game. He was completely healthy and played brilliantly. He has done many great things during his very short time in the NFL.

The Chiefs will now go to Miami in two weeks to play the San Francisco 49ers. This is the match up that most NFL fans wanted to see. These were the two best teams in the NFL this season. The 49ers have a suffocating defense and the Chiefs have an electric offense that is one of the most potent in the league. Therefore, experts are wondering which one will prevail in the biggest spectacle in sports. Both teams are loaded with talent and are worthy of getting to the Super Bowl.

One of the very interesting stories of the Super Bowl this year involves Chiefs head coach Andy Reid. He has accomplished many great things during his time as a head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles and the Chiefs. However, he has never been able to win a Super Bowl. He was the coach of the Eagles when they made it to the Super Bowl and lost to the Patriots. That was many years ago. This year he will look to get the title that has eluded him for his entire career. It should be a great game.
