Ryan Seacrest Honored at Fashion Scholarship Fund Gala and Reveals His Routines with Kelly Ripa

The new year is here and that means new seasons of our favorite TV shows! Ryan Seacrest has already welcomed 2019 as the host of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, and now he will be saying aloha with Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan as part of their journey to find the next American Idol!

American Idol heads to Hawaii in the new season that begins on March 3 on ABC. “Do you know where you’re going to be on March 3?” Katy Perry asked in the video featuring the returning judges. “I know where I’m going to be on March 3,” country star Luke Bryan replied. “Me too,” added the third judge, Lionel Richie. “You know, I’m going to be watching American Idol on ABC.”

Ryan Seacrest shared on his live radio show On Air with Ryan Seacrest that, for the first time ever, American Idol will be going to Hawaii to film its showcase rounds at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina. When the announcement was made, the current American Idol winner Maddie Poppe, and runner up Caleb Lee Hutchinson, were enjoying their award trip at Aulani Resort! Of course, they got to celebrate in person with Mickey and Minnie.

As a reminder, American Idol began in 2002. This was also the year when Ryan Seacrest was offered to host American Idol. For those who don’t know, Ryan was first offered to be a judge on the show, but he asked to be auditioned for the host, although there was already a host when Seacrest auditioned. “It happened very fast. I remember I auditioned on a Friday and I think I started working on a Saturday. Nothing ever happens as planned,” Seacrest said in an interview.

“American Idol” was based on the British series Pop Idol, brought to the US by Simon Cowell. Cowell agreed that Seacrest would be better as a host of the show, and once again, Simon’s intuition was right. Ryan Seacrest became the only and the most recognizable host of the show. For eight consecutive years, American Idol ranked number one in the US TV ratings, while Ryan Seacrest quickly rose to fame as a major TV personality.

The new season returns with the music industry legends and judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. Ryan Seacrest is also returning to the music competition series as the host of American Idol 2019, as well as famous radio DJ, comedian, best-selling author and Dancing with the Stars champion Bobby Bones, who will join the show as the in-house mentor.

The students that were selected will receive a total of more than $1 million in scholarships while proceeds from the Scholarship Awards Gala will benefit the YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund. Ryan Seacrest’s Fashion Routine

Ryan Seacrest’s CV is filled with game-changing TV shows such as American Idol, Live with Kelly and Ryan, Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest, and E! Live from the Red Carpet. Let’s not forget about producing a few successful TV shows, including Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

But that’s not all. When he’s not hosting or producing TV shows, Seacrest is dressing American men in Distinction, his clothing line that is sold exclusively at Macy’s. The line was launched in 2014 when the host of American Idol created a clothing line that’s affordable with perpetually on-sale models. The brand is a result of successful cooperation: the Japanese brand Itochu makes the dress shirts, Randa Accessories makes the accessories and Peerless Clothing manufactures the suits.

Distinction is all about helping out its customers as it does not overestimate the style sensibility of its target market. The line is famous for having sewn some helpful tags into the suits and called it “style made smart” color-matching system. The tags are printed with the numbers 1-4, according to the color and style.

Ryan Seacrest is also taking care of the skin of American men with his line of skincare, Polished, made in partnership with the celebrity dermatologist Harold Lancer.

When someone is as busy as Ryan Seacrest, they need a solid routine that helps them stay ahead of any unexpected situation. One of these routines is his morning routine. “I get up, I take my shower, I start to read different news articles, I’ll read papers, I’ll swipe through different apps to see what’s happened over night,” he explained. “I get an email briefing on things that might be pertinent for us to talk about on the show. I’ll sit and have a cup of tea, cup of coffee, or a cup of lemon water depending on my mood, get dressed, and pack my backpack. Now that I live in New York I have to have my backpack all the time—you never know when you’re gonna get a chance to do something or be stuck in a certain part of town. So, I roll out with my backpack and my lunch box and head over to ABC.”

Ryan Seacrest credits his fashion style to other stylists and designers he’s worked with over the years. As he once admitted, his closet was once filled with dark suits and skinny ties, but then it has grown to include more than just one style. “That’s the first step, to see how much tailoring needs to be done for this to fit right and look right on screen,” he said. “Then we start to add to it with different shirts and sweaters, ties, cufflinks.” Like any guy who dresses up for work, Seacrest plans for five days of suits each week. His stylist comes in and the two of them start planning his on-air outfits three weeks out. “About three weeks prior, I get together with my stylist Sam in New York,” he said and added, “and he pulls different things from my line and other lines as well. We’ll build looks from certain foundations of suits. You don’t need 50 suits, you just need your basic foundation suits and you can build around them to get different looks.”

Because he lives between New York and LA, Ryan has his travel essentials with him all the time. Here’s what’s in his bag: “Tom Ford black leather carry-on, cold Smartwater, Bose noise-cancelling headphones, laptop to review dailies of our shows (or to catch up on my favorite shows), Polished by Dr. Lancer moisturizer and lip balm.” Seacrest knows that a comfortable flight is a productive flight and that’s why he swears by relaxed casual layers and a pair of socks for the air. “Usually, something casual like my favorite Scotch & Soda jeans, a Marine Layer t-shirt, and a hoodie of some sort,” he said. “I just got this Alternative Apparel hoodie. And, I love my Tom Ford slip-ons, but I’d bring some socks for the flight.”

As a TV personality, Seacrest knows that people are not afraid to speak their minds, especially when they don’t like his style. And believe it or not, that happens from time to time too. “People react to every haircut,” he said. ”Certainly anything that’s tight to the sides: It can be a controversy if you take your hair too tight to the sides. When I was guest hosting for Kelly, I think I wore a shirt that was just too small. And sitting there on the stool, I could see it. It was like, The button’s in the wrong place. And then half the time I don’t even realize it until you go back and see, Oh, that black shirt created way too much conversation. That’s fun!”

One of these situations was when he hit the air in no-show socks. “I always wore socks in the summer. And when I moved to New York this summer, my stylist said to me, ‘You know, here in the city guys don’t always wear socks. As a matter of fact, it’s accepted to not wear socks with your suit,’” Seacrest explained. “And I said, ‘Well, let’s try it.’” Even Seacrest’s mom was brought into the debate at the time! “You know, some people felt like maybe there was too much ankle,” Seacrest admitted. But the truth is that he was wearing socks at the time! “There’s a sock in there, you just can’t see it. It’s an invisible sock,” Ryan joked as always.

With almost 4 million Instagram followers, Ryan Seacrest influences a lot of men. But even an influencer such as Seacrest is sometimes on the fence about certain things. One of them is jewelry. “I’ve struggled to figure out what to do with bracelets,” he said. “Sometimes I’ll have one silver one and think that’s ok. And then I’ll add to it and they slide too much. So the bracelets are a work in progress,” famous host admitted.

But there’s one thing that Seacrest loves and that is his vintage Rolex. “It’s there, it tells time, it’s a beautiful piece, it’s an antique, it’s from the seventies, but it doesn’t jump out and scream at you and it’s the right size and proportion for my body. I love the silver color and obviously it works with everything.” It seems like an old-school watch works for every guy. Seacrest also wore his beautiful watch on the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards. Not everyone could get away with wearing such a valuable watch such as Rolex Daytona, but the watch went perfectly with Seacrest’s laid back attitude.

Besides being one of the most stylish people in the industry, Seacrest is lucky to work with a stylish co-host such as Kelly Ripa. Ryan called Kelly one of the most fashionable women on TV. Because of this, he feels a responsibility to look even better when sitting next to her. “To sit next to Kelly Ripa who looks good on a daily basis, one can feel the pressure,” Seacrest admitted. “And you want it to look like you’re meant to be in the same shot when you’re in a two shot. So our stylists touch base with each other the morning of just to see what we’re wearing so that we’re not completely clashing with colors or patterns when we’re on the air.”

Ryan Seacrest and Kelly Ripa don’t just look good together, but they also work together as a fantastic team! Thirty seconds before we go on set, we look at each other’s teeth, and we check to see if my fly is down, or her buttons are fastened,” Ryan said. “Just those little quick checks, things that can shift from backstage to the set. So we look at each other and do a quick once over before we turn the corner.”

Ryan Seacrest and Kelly Ripa Morning Routines

It’s no secret that Ryan Seacrest and Kelly Ripa are very much involved in each other’s life. Seacrest was recently spotted on a double date with his co-host and good friend Kelly Ripa, her husband Mark Consuelos and Seacrest’s girlfriend Shayna Taylor in New York City.

Seacrest captioned the image on Instagram that he shared with his 3.9 million followers, “Thanks for dinner K and m. #burger for the table, see u in the am.” Ryan admitted that Kelly and Mark were his favorite American couple, when Ripa joked about her friend’s drinking preferences. “The most fascinating thing happened,” Ripa said, “Mark turns to me and says ‘I think Ryan just ordered wine — I think,” she joked about Ryan’s ability to order wine.

But wine is not the only drink that Ryan and Kelly drink together. As the co-host of a morning show, they also drink coffee together. In order to be out the door by 7 in the morning, Kelly wakes up at 5:30. Before heading out of the door, she makes a highly-caffeinated concoction that she learned from Ryan Seacrest’s girlfriend, Shayna Taylor, who is also a private chef. “I make a ‘Bullet Coffee’ at home in the morning. It’s coffee, two shots of espresso and a tablespoon of ghee and then a packet of collagen powder,” she explained. “I blend it all together and have this frosty thick beverage.”

Seacrest wakes up at 5 every morning, and he usually has tea or coffee before leaving the house. The American Idol host doesn’t drink coffee every day.  “I love it, but I don’t drink it every day, just because I think that I shouldn’t. But I am one of those people that goes to bed excited to have coffee in the morning. I just don’t need it every day. I’m usually just motivated once the light goes on, because a lot of what I do is live. So I get a rush out of that.”

New Episodes of Live with Kelly and Ryan

Miss Universe 2018 formally started her media tour in one of the first episodes of Live with Kelly and Ryan in 2019. In her appearance, Catriona Gray wore a yellow dress and talked about her mom Mita who once wore dreamt of her daughter’s Miss Universe moment! She dreamt of her winning while wearing a red gown, and Catriona eventually won the title, all while wearing a red gown.

Ryan Seacrest and Kelly Ripa got to know Catriona a bit more and asked her about her advocacy, the dress and they greeted her a happy birthday! Gray said that she spent her birthday on Broadway and went on a food trip. She also told the famous co-hosts that she loves the winter weather. She and Kelly joked about the weather as they both took out tissues and pretended to wipe tears. She also presented some of her Filipino fans and added that without a doubt, they are the best fans in the world!
